Vestlandet is Norway's fjord country. The word fjord is related to the English ford, a crossing over water. That's is why some lakes are also called fjords, for instance Ransfjorden. Fjords were the highways of olden times.
Vestlandet stretches from Jæren and Sandnes in the south to Nordfjord in the north. My pictures represent only a fraction of the beauty these landscapes has to offer. Missing is the magnificent Hardangerfjord and Ålesund, the town with the surprising art nouveau architecture. i urge you to look them up.
